1. How to install (setup) Chinese input method in your computer.
For Vista window user:
Control Panel --> Clock, Languages and Regions --> Change Keyboards or other Input methods (under Regional and Language options) --> Click on "Change Keyboards" --> click on "Add" button. You will see a little of options. If you want to input Simplified Chinese, click open Chinese (PRC), for Tradional Chinese, click open Chinese (Taiwan)
For Simplified Chinese, if you like, you can use Pinyin input method from Microsoft. But I like the Google pinyin input method better. So I only setup my keyboard for Cangjie input method for Traditional Chinese.

Though you can use the built-in pinyin input method from Microsoft window, I prefer Google input method personal.
Download it here: http://tools.google.com/pinyin/index.html
Here is some of the features I like:

-- popular words
-- Sync with your google account.
You can use this pinyin input method to type for Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese. Just switch it in setting. Talk about the setting, you can learn a greater details from here:
